Durban , my hometown, in B&W

Posted on: April 5th, 2013 by andrewrhb No Comments

I guess after 30 years, I can call Durban my hometown….

A mix of peoples, cultures, religions, hot humid days, the best winter weather around,  sports. I have grown to love it…

As any city does, it has its share of warts, the bad, and the ugly.

Yet somehow smiles always get through, the chilled surroundings relax one, and the colour of the city is always invigorating…..

Our main attraction is the ocean, the sun, the surf, our open spaces and our mix; and it is on these that I have concentrated.

I have decided to share my images with you in B&W  and at the end I have sneaked three in colour,  to illustrate the rich intoxicating colours of my hometown!

Enjoy … looking forward to your feedback….

the smile….

and then just to show that Durban isn’t just a series of shades of grey…. (could that be suburban games) ….

thank you for taking the time and interest, my wish is that these images impacted on you in some way and shifted your perspective of Durban…
